Last year's winner JONBON impressed in the winter in the Tingle Creek and Clarence House, and last month's Champion Chase defeat is immediately excusable on account of a bad mistake. He can bounce back with yet another Grade 1 win. El Fabiolo and Protektorat are capable of running well but they both arrive with something to prove and therefore a better option for the forecast could be Matata at big odds. He needs to prove his stamina but has shown some impressive handicap form this season and could enjoy the run of the race in front.[Ben Hutton]
