Classy hurdler JAPON (5) will have been well-schooled since his mishap at Auteuil on his chase debut in April. He has been given some time and should be able to get off the mark over fences this time. JOUR DE TONERRE (1) can keep the selection honest and was a credible fourth over this track in a hurdle race when last seen on Christmas Day. He won over fences in September. JAGUAR DU LARGE (3) and JUSTE UNE D'ATHOU (6) both warrant respect and can duel for minor honours.
