VICTOR HUGO acquitted himself well in defeat over 1600m last time in his first start around the bend and that experience could give him the edge over improving BEL CANTO DREAM. The latter may have more to offer over this extended distance after two pleasing 1200m sprints. HONORINE'S GIMMIE fits a similar profile but is awkwardly drawn in stall 11. KONNICHIWA, GRAND ALLEGRO, and THOMAS JENKINS appeal most of the remainder.
