Exxtra won this last year but this looks a much stronger renewal and it'll be a surprise if she follows up. Sajir and King Gold are both penalised so that sways things towards TOPGEAR, Lake Forest and Beauvatier. Preference is for the first-named, who bolted up in last year's Challenge and, as he's not had much racing for one of his age, he may be capable of better. Lake Forest won the Golden Eagle in Australia on his final start but soft ground is a concern, something that's not an issue for Beauvatier, who ran well in a Group 1 dropped to sprinting at Ascot in autumn.
