Ground conditions will be a query for some, including recent winner Record High, but ESPERTI was a good-ground winner in Ireland and, after a dispiriting run of form, he was quite impressive at Ffos Las last month. A serious tendency to jump right is far from ideal kept to a left-handed track but he could still be some way ahead of the handicapper. Dangers include Lazy Sunday (second choice), Jo Lescribaa and Express Surprise even though neither of the latter two were seen to best advantage last time out.[Emily Weber]
