The years have taken no toll on the admirable HAMISH so far - he was second in the Group 1 Coronation Cup at this juncture last season - and hopefully the same will be true for his reappearance this time around. He has a fine first-time-out record and won back in 2023 on his only visit to Goodwood. Most of today's rivals are snapping at his heels form-wise, though, and perhaps last year's German Derby winner Palladium will be the one to profit if age finally catches up with the selection.[Richard Austen]

Usually front-runner these days; three handicap wins last year before he narrowly took a Listed race at Newmarket in November, all over about 1m2f on soft or good to soft; weakened into a fair fourth in Chester Group 2 one month ago; should step up on that but he's unraced beyond 10.3f.
Reappearing 9yo who's won a hatful of Group 3s over 1m4f-1m6f in his long and distinguished career, including first time out in his last four campaigns; rounded off last term with Listed win at the Curragh in November and he's the one to beat if returning on song yet again.
Made a big splash with three wins from four starts last August-November, with the first three on ground softer than good but markedly better for 1m4f Listed win on AW; cheekpieces have gone on this season, with a creditable second in Winter Derby at Southwell in February but below form in Bahrain in March; bit to prove on turf but in the mix on his AW form.
5-14 in France for Andre Fabre, peaking with a 1m4f Listed win on very soft last April but his five seconds include a Group 3; bought for 220,000gns in January; overall improvement may be needed.
Won twice from seven starts on the Flat in Germany, notably when leading on the post in the German Derby (1m4f, good to soft) last July; fetched 1,400,000euros in October and won hurdles debut for Nicky Henderson in January, but he was sore three days before the Triumph Hurdle in March and had to miss it; back to Flat for another new yard and should be a serious contender.
Lightly raced 4yo who showed improved form to win comfortably in a 1m4f handicap at Southwell in December on his AW debut; Newbury Group 3 (1m4f, good to firm) three weeks ago was a fair bit better still on the figures but he was last of seven and even that leaves him with lots to find.
