Only 1-17 over hurdles, but keeping-on C&D second last month (good) took his course record to 41422, whilst also increasing options trip-wise; live contender once more in no better a contest.
Cashed in a tumbling mark at Stratford latest (extended 3m2f, good) for a sixth staying hurdle win on a sound surface, another gained over today's C&D in 2022; back up 8lb, but able to follow up a win twice before.
In the frame on 12 of 13 chasing completions for these connections, but unseen for 23 months and well over four years since his latest hurdles start; seems the yard's first choice on jockey arrangements nevertheless.
Still 3lb above his one winning mark, but no trip or ground issues, and no surprise were last month's return outing here needed (as his first run last summer had been); uplift possible.
Only seen off up the run-in on March's Fontwell handicap debut (3m2f, good to soft) and 3lb lower now, but signed off for Dominic French Davis on a low note, and needs to have revived for the change of scenery.
Sole win came in July 2021 and it's been possible to call him well handicapped for a while now; absence to overcome, but more suitable ground does await than on either previous start over a stayers' trip.
Flattered by the proximity to an easy winner at Ludlow latest (followed up next time), albeit over a 2m5f trip probably short of optimum now; remains of interest 1lb below the mark of his April 2023 Fontwell stayers' hurdle success (good).
Last home on three most recent outings, including last month's handicap debut; not bred for staying hurdles, and switch from cheekpieces to blinkers needs to work wonders; 7lb out of the weights.
