The winner when this race was still confined to Welsh hunts in 2019, and successful at the only Welsh point to have survived either the weather or the nosedive in locally issued certificates this term, the sponsor's Pink Eyed Pedro will be popular with many. DALAMOI brings the greater momentum into the race, however, as well as appreciably younger legs, and whilst his record at Chepstow is chequered he's proven capable of career-best form here when all clicks right. Revels Hill (next best) still has something to offer the game judged on his recent pointing comeback third. [Jeremy Grayson]

Dug in well to hold on in a Cocklebarrow conditions point in January (3m, good) but has failed to complete thrice since; chance likely increases if conditions quicken, but others still convince more.
3-3 in open points across a variety of going types this term, with March's Didmarton success franked by the runner-up at Kimble last weekend; twice a non-finisher over today's C&D previously, but his earlier 2m3.5f second here (good to soft) remains a career-best effort judged on RPRs; player.

On the podium on each of his last six completed starts without winning any, though didn't curl up once headed at Fakenham last time (3m, good); more required in a better-looking contest.
He'd rate a most poignant local winner following the passing of Ross Farr last week, but recent defeats in maiden points underline he has the most to find of any here.
Took this contest in 2019; mixed open win under James King at neighbouring Howick in March (good to soft) showed the fire still burns, and he's posted a fair effort around a less galloping line since; obviously vulnerable to more upwardly mobile types, but ought not be far away again.
Fourth in this race under James King last year; weakening late efforts in a lightish handicap chase campaign since, converting a 4l last-fence lead into a narrow defeat back over this C&D in November (good).
Only a second outing since his bet365 Gold Cup third of two years ago when fourth in a 3m4f Cothelstone mixed open last month (good; no extra 2 out); couldn't insist his present rating is still warranted on that evidence but some ability clearly remains, and he won't mind any cut.
