An intriguing event with a few runners of interest. Cadarn retains potential and dropping to 1m could prompt further progress now handicapping. Rhythm Master is capable at this level and was unlucky at Thirsk last time but a 3lb rise isn't ideal. Barley shaped well on his recent return to action but BOY DOUGLAS ran well on his return last May and looks well treated again after a quiet end to 2024.[Paul Smith]

It's been a long time since his last win but he retains ability and would have gone even closer at Thirsk nine days ago (7f, good; well backed) but for having to wait for a gap at a crucial stage; 3lb rise for that effort asks a tougher question but returning to a mile should be fine and he's one to take seriously.
