King Califet is penalised for being gifted the race at Newbury and it will be disappointing should BUCKNA not live up to his big-money transfer sooner or later. He finished rather wearily last time but that was a better race than this. Sole Solution seems to be getting there after an absence and he enters the reckoning, while Strong As Steel retains potential.[Alistair Jones]

Fetched £110,000 after finishing second in a six-runner Irish point (soft/heavy); made a winning start under rules at Newbury (2m maiden, soft; 11-2) but was gifted that race after the clear leader came down at the last, and this 6yo was all out to repel the rallying second (debut bumper winner); no good thing to defy a penalty here but clearly a contender.
Cost £350,000 after winning an Irish maiden point (3m, yielding to soft) last March; a beaten favourite in both his hurdles starts (soft), running better at Ffos Las (2m) than at Newbury four weeks ago (2m4f) when he finished wearily; disappointing should he not be capable of better.
Not sure he achieved all that much in winning an Irish point and those doubts now have substance after a forgettable hurdling debut; had wind surgery since.
Had a long time out after winning two bumpers (soft/heavy); couldn't cope with an easy winner (probably very smart) at Leicester (2m4f, heavy) but that's something to build on.
Beaten under 5l by the useful Jurancon in a bumper here last March (soft) but hasn't kicked on from that in a big way; did race freely and made a bad late mistake on hurdling debut at Uttoxeter last month, so by no means one to give up on just yet.
