This might go to MARRY THE NIGHT, who ran well in defeat over 6f at Carlisle recently, seems likely to benefit from today's step up in trip and has a favourable draw. Nursery debutant Groundsman is also well drawn and can provide the main threat, although Dr T H G may appear late on the scene and is also considered.[Chris Wilson]

Good second to useful rival in Ripon novice (6f, good to soft) in June but next two runs were slightly disappointing; needs to up his game to overcome top weight on this nursery debut.
Placed on debut at Bath (5.7f, good) for Dominic Ffrench Davis; subsequent Royal Ascot defeat for Raphael Freire is easily overlooked but he managed only fourth when favourite for 5f AW novice in July, and will need to do better on debut for latest new stable; up in trip for first nursery.
Kept on well for fourth in 5f novice here in July but well beaten twice since (6f/5f), latterly on nursery debut, and it takes big leap of faith to support him on this first 7f attempt; hood removed after one use.
Belied 150-1 odds when fourth in Ffos Las maiden (7.3f soft) last month but was safely held in two Bath sprints either side of that run; others in this field have more convincing profiles.
Displayed clear promise on all three summer starts, most recently when fourth at Thirsk (6f, good to firm) in July; moves up in trip and is well drawn to attack from the front on today's nursery debut; gelded last month.
Reportedly suited by step up to 8.6f (from 7f) when beating three rivals on nursery debut at Wolverhampton (AW; front pair clear) in August but was disappointing odds-on favourite over 9.4f there 12 days ago (raced too freely), and is not easy to predict now back at 7f and with blinkers tried.
Probably still has potential but made just a respectable nursery debut when fourth of seven at Salisbury (7f, good to soft; first-time hood) last week and her tendency to race too freely remains a concern.
Middle-distance bred gelding; made encouraging nursery debut when keeping on well from the rear for third at Epsom (7f, good) last month, and his outside draw may not be a significant disadvantage if patient tactics are planned again here.
Bettered low-key nursery debut when keeping on well for close second over the stiff 6f at Carlisle (soft; first-time cheekpieces) ten days ago and, on that evidence, he's a very good candidate for a crack at 7f.
Unable to land a telling blow in four novice/maiden races (5f-6f) but has bottom weight for this nursery debut and is open to improvement over the longer trip.
