C&D winner KIHAVAH was runner-up in the hugely competitive Ebor last month and can go one better today. Five-time course winner Euchen Glen is second choice back here, while the progressive filly Fiver Friday is respected despite having her stamina to prove. Mountain Road has won his last two and is an interesting contender on his first run for Jim Goldie.[Ben Hutton]

Highly admirable dual-purpose performer who looked as good as ever when runner-up in last month's Ebor (1m6f, good to firm); he has a good record at York but he won over C&D on his last visit to Ayr and holds solid claims.
Listed winner in June 2023 and he continues to drop down the weights; however, he's struggled on his three starts this season and a major turnaround is required.
11yo who was merely mid-division in the Old Borough Cup at Haydock a fortnight ago but he's had a few bright moments this season and was a close fourth in the competitive 1m6f handicap at Glorious Goodwood; 11 visits to Ayr have yielded five wins and he has to be of interest now back here.
Won here (1m2f, good) in April and made it three wins for the year at Naas (10.3f, good to yielding) latest; stamina to prove now back up in trip but her run was too bad to be true when tailed off over 1m5f at Down Royal in July, and this progressive 4yo can play a leading role if seeing it out.
Comfortably made all at Newmarket (1m6f, good to firm) in June on second start of the season and followed up at Chelmsford (2m, AW) in July; subsequently sold out of David Simcock's yard for 30,000gns; he brings an improving profile to this stable debut and is firmly in calculations.
In good form prior to easy win in five-runner handicap at Thirsk (1m4f, good) a fortnight ago; he set a steady pace and enjoyed the run of the race, but a 4lb rise isn't harsh and he's not ruled out.
Won at Southwell (1m6f, AW) in April when back from a break; absent since but he's clearly capable when fresh; won at Haydock (1m6f, heavy) last September and has also scored on good going; not ruled out.
