Dacres Cross sets the standard but it was a bit disappointing he didn't build on his eyecatching Pontefract debut second time out and he may be vulnerable to a newcomer. Super Sprint entry Harlequin Bay is respected, especially if attracting support, but BLUE MANTLE is just preferred. He is bred for further, but 6f on a stiff track like this is a fair test for a 2yo at this stage of their career so it may suit him.[David Bellingham]

March foal by Iffraaj; 12,000gns foal, 30,000euros yearling; half-brother to Flat winners Monty (French 1m1f-1m4f including Group 3; RPR 117), Victory Bond (9.4f/1m2f including AW; 110) and Prewar (French 1m1f/9.5f; 82); dam once-raced half-sister to 12.5f Group 2 winner Ziyad; attractive pedigree and although bred for further, this trip on a stiff track may suit at this stage of his career; watch market.
Both starts over 5f on good ground; caught the eye when fifth of eight on last month's Pontefract debut (second and fourth won next time), but didn't really build on it when fourth of eight at Thirsk 13 days ago; sets the standard, albeit not an insurmountable one.
April foal by Mohaather; half-brother to winners Zabiari (French 6.5f-1m including 2yo Group 3; RPR 105), Zariyannka (French/Czech/Slovakian 1m-1m4f; 105) and Zimaniya (French 7f AW 2yo/1m3f turf); dam Listed-placed 1m winner (including 2yo; 102); something to like on pedigree, but stable wouldn't be a noted source of winning 2yo newcomers.
March foal by A'Ali; half-brother to winners Back See Daa (1m; RPR 96), Completed (1m AW 2yo; 93) and Fulfilled (1m-1m4f including AW; 87); dam 1m AW winner (83), half-sister to 1m Group 3 winner Zibelina; apprentice-ridden on debut and stable not known for winning 2yo newcomers.
April foal by Mohaather; 6,000gns yearling; half-brother to winners Lucky Charm (5f AW; RPR 73) and Surfina (Spanish 6.5f/7f including 2yo); dam 5f/6f winner (including 2yo; 86); stable gets its share of 2yo winners first time out and worth monitoring in the market; holds a Super Sprint entry.
February foal by Cotai Glory; £16,000 yearling; closely related to Danish 7f/1m winner Dark Stream, half-brother to winners La Neide (Italian 5f) and Rabbit Coulsty (Czech 1m); dam unraced half-sister to smart 1m2f-2m winner Angel Gabrial; stable does have 2yo winners first time out and worth a market check; holds an entry in the sales race at the York Ebor meeting.
