Kosometsuke is bred to be much better than he has shown so a positive market move on handicap debut after seven months off should be noted. Warrnambool, Spirited Dancer, Bear Island and Beltadaay also make the shortlist, but the vote goes to the ultra-consistent WHIZZ BY who has run well over C&D and has a nice draw. Penelope Valentine was an emphatic winner over C&D in February and may prove the main danger.[David Bellingham]

Just a hint of ability in his five starts to date, though not in his latest outing at Doncaster (1m, good to firm); return to this trip may help, as may the visor, but he has plenty to prove for now.
Showed ability in the last two of his three starts over 7f on the AW (all in a tongue-tie) for Amy Murphy, as when fourth of eight in first-time cheekpieces (now removed) at Chelmsford in January; makes his handicap debut after four months off and has the outside stall; watch market.
Comfortably landed a Bath maiden (5.7f, good) for Jack Channon exactly one year ago, but out of the frame in all five outings since including on stable debut over 6f here (first-time hood) last month; may appreciate the extra furlong on breeding, though, so worth considering.
