While Regal Agenda's second on soft ground at Yarmouth last October is comparable form, CLERMONT FERRAND has to get the vote after beating her by 5l at the same track three weeks ago. That was the first run for Harry Charlton's filly and it contained plenty of promise. Most of the others also seem to bring potential but with them it isn't quite so striking.[Richard Austen]

Late foal, by Kodiac; 50-1 for six-runner novice at Yarmouth (1m2f, good) three weeks ago but came from towards the rear to bustle up the winner; after that bright start, with today's form rival Regal Agenda 5l back in fourth, and the third and first fighting it out at Sandown on Friday, this 4yo looks the one to beat.
Has run in two 1m maidens on Newcastle AW, improved when well-backed third of eight 17 days ago; bred far more for this trip and should progress again, which is needed.
Modest form at Kempton (1m, AW) on debut last July but front-running fourth of seven in novice at Goodwood (1m, soft) in August was better; others have better form but she's a late foal who should stay 1m2f+ and progress.
12-1, never-dangerous sixth of 12 in maiden at Wolverhampton (8.6f, AW) in November but she kept on well; there's lots to like in her pedigree and it will be disappointing if she can't leave that form behind her this term.
Well down the field at Newbury (7f, soft; 25-1) in September but a lot better when fifth of 12 in novice at Kempton (1m, AW; 100-1) in October; she shaped as if 1m2f will suit her well.
From a good family that has served her owner well; second at Yarmouth (1m, soft) in October makes her one of the top two on form in this line-up, but the other one is Clermont Ferrand who beat her by 5l back at Yarmouth (1m2f, good) three weeks ago; made most that day; needs to bounce back.
Frankel filly; sibling to five winners, notably Royal Rhyme (7f-1m2f, including Group 3; 118); dam 1m winner (102), half-sister to Dubawi; 6-4 for novice at Wolverhampton (8.6f, AW) last month but went down by 7l in third of five; very early days but she looks the stable second string to Regal Agenda, who has the same granddam.
