This looks competitive on paper but only two have run this season. They are the last-time-out winners Stanage and Fahrenheit Seven, who have questions to answer regarding today's headgear and trip respectively. The market moves should reveal more but they could prove vulnerable to fellow 4yos FIFTY NIFTY and Ten Pounds, a lightly raced pair who looked promising when winning last term and bring clear hopes of better to come this season.[Richard Austen]

Best effort last term when going close in his bid to win Group 3 Hungerford at Newbury in August for a second time; smart 7f performer on his day but last scored in June 2023 and took his time to really get going last season.
Odds-on winner of two novice events last summer, latterly at Leicester on good to firm, and he made it a hat-trick in smooth style on handicap debut at Newcastle (AW); underperformed back on turf on final outing but that was on soft; after only five races, all 7f, he should still bring potential.
Often front-runner; no win since May 2023; bang there on three occasions last year, showing he can be competitive off this mark, and he kicked off that campaign with fourth of 15 in this race; not dismissed.
Justified favouritism on the other course here (7f, good to firm) last August, adding to his debut win and improving on that form for the first time; up 6lb for this first race since, with Oisin Murphy (on board last time) back in the saddle; has had just four races and looks capable of better.
Progressive in 7f handicaps last summer, recording two clearcut wins before her fourth of 18 at Glorious Goodwood and third of 17 at York Ebor meeting; one to note for stable which had five winners last Saturday.
Had 7f handicap wins last June and September and he's now just 1lb above his last winning mark; well beaten on 2024 reappearance but went close on it the year before; player if he's on song for it this time round.
First-time blinkers when winning a Chelmsford maiden (7f, AW) in October on his sixth and final race for the Gosdens; sold for 28,000gns and came last when blinkered in November on handicap/stable debut, but he was hooded instead in 14-runner handicap at Doncaster (7f, good) 17 days ago and produced a late surge to score at 25-1; this 3lb higher mark does not look harsh but he switches back to blinkers this time.
Three wins last year and he arrived in the final 1f to score by a neck at Pontefract (5f) eight days ago; probably needs to hit a new high given his penalty but the striking issue is that all his wins were at 5f or 6f, with only one run (last November, admittedly close up) having been at 7f.
