Three of these took part in the same Doncaster race last month and, while the third Freddy Robinson and fifth Marioento look good for big runs, it's the sixth WHATACRACKER who makes most appeal. He's been through turbulent times since impressing at Carlisle in 2023 but is favourably treated now and looked on the way back last time. James Owen's new recruit Nibras Gold would be very interesting if the market is positive.[Emily Weber]

Raced mostly at 1m2f on Newcastle AW in 2024, winning in November; has also run some good races in defeat over 1m4f at Thirsk but this test will ask more of him and others look more likely today.
Two hurdle wins (good and good to firm) for David Pipe but unraced on the Flat since 2021, when winning two on the AW (1m6f) for previous trainer and had a near-miss on turf as well (off 1lb lower); intriguing contender for up-and-coming yard; regular tongue-tie discarded.
Promising AW debut at 1m1f for the Crisfords as a 3yo but off for a year after and soundly beaten at 7f and 1m for new yard; handicaps offer more scope but stamina for this far has to be proved on turf debut.
Looked to have middle-distance potential when drawing clear over 1m3f at Carlisle (good to soft; off 2lb higher) in 2023; only lightly raced since, with some fits and starts, but he shaped nicely over an inadequate 1m2f at Doncaster last month and has become of more interest again.
Won on very soft ground in France; four British wins on this track, most recently over 1m4f and 1m2f (good to firm and good) in 2024; just 1lb higher than for the latter success but his reappearance record could be better.
Won sole course start, over 1m2f (good to soft) last June before getting beaten by a nose in three consecutive 1m4f runs; promising third of 19 on comeback at Doncaster (1m2f, good to soft) and ready for another go at 1m4f; solid chance.
Successfully upped to about 1m1f on third handicap start, on AW in February, and he made a good fist of his turf debut when fifth, just behind Freddy Robinson, at Doncaster (1m2f, good to soft) since; has some staying influences in pedigree and looks capable of improvement.
Three wins since last June, over 1m3f (good to firm) and 1m2f (good to soft) on turf and AW, but his recent efforts need improving on and he was hurdling only on Friday.
