Started the season on a stiff mark having dead-heated for fourth in a Grade 1 novice at Aintree last April (3m, soft); best run this term when fourth in a 3m handicap at Ayr in January (soft); excuses for two lesser runs since; not sure today's quicker conditions are ideal.
Went up 14lb for winning three staying handicaps on soft ground in cheekpieces last season (the third over C&D); has struggled a bit this season, last twice without headgear, best run when over 18l fourth at Wetherby in February (3m, soft; 5l behind runner-up Shared); headgear back on but better ground not sure to be ideal.
Won a novice hurdle here in 2023 (2m, good); patchy form this season, beaten 13l when second on first try at 3m last time at Wetherby (soft; Curley Finger back in fourth); wouldn't rule out back on good ground.
Placed in two Irish points (3m, good/yielding) early last year; also placed in two bumpers and then off the mark on third start over hurdles (first run at 3m under rules) when winning a Ludlow maiden last time (good to soft); this looks tougher, but not out of it.
Front-runner; on a hat-trick having won at Uttoxeter (2m4f, soft) and Market Rasen (2m7f, good to soft) on his last two starts; up 12lb (6lb higher than last time); chance.
Maiden; placed in five of her 12 starts over hurdles, notably when second to a progressive sort over C&D in January (good to soft); never travelled when tried in cheekpieces last time (pulled up); headgear dispensed with; shortlisted.
