Robert Cowell has a strong hand in this race and although Rhythm N Hooves and Almaty Star are much respected, preference is for MICHAELA'S BOY. He was disappointing behind Almaty Star over C&D last month, but had previously proved himself much better than that and is more than capable of taking this contest if bouncing back.[David Bellingham]

Dual turf winner over 5f for the Crisfords in 2023, but has only made the track twice since June of that year; probably needed last month's stable debut at Newcastle (5f, Tapeta), but still has enough to prove.
Handy sort who won twice at around New Year, including over C&D; below form in the race won by stablemate Almaty Star here last month but is much better than that; solid claims if bouncing back; stable runs three.
Running well at Southwell (5f, Tapeta) lately, winning two of his last three starts there; has gone well here before and not discounted up another 3lb; one of three for stable.
Handy sort who won over C&D as a 2yo; last five wins have come on turf, the latest from 4lb higher at Yarmouth (5f, good) in September, but she has finished fifth in all four AW starts since then so needs a bit more to get back on the scoresheet.
Front-runner who made all when winning over C&D last month; 3lb rise fair enough and although he has a bit more to do if he is to repeat the same tactics from his high draw, his presence still gives Robert Cowell a strong hand in this race.
Won two Tapeta novices (one over C&D) for Karl Burke at the end of 2023, but twice well held in warm company on turf the following spring; changed hands for 40,000gns last July and makes his stable debut after 300 days off having been gelded/undergone wind surgery; watch market.
Won four times last year, the first success coming in a four-runner maiden over C&D, but his three wins on turf afterwards all came over 6f; has gone well fresh before, but he may find this a bit sharp on his return.
Won four times for Clive Cox in 2022, including on his debut here (6f), but losing run up to 18 including ten starts for this yard; returns from eight months off and has no great record fresh; best watched.
0-11 since his successful 2yo debut, highly tried initially but faring little better since handicapping despite a falling mark (gelded before latest outing); best watched for now.
