A great deal probably hinges on whether the newcomer MAGICAL TREASURE or form pick Pearl Of Hope is Charlie Appleby's first string and, given her pedigree and 575,000gns purchase price, the chance is taken that it is the former. Given their powerful stables, fellow debutantes Likealot and Praying For Time need plenty of respect. The betting moves will have to be consulted.[Richard Austen]

Late foal; 50-1 and slowly away when never dangerous in 7f novice here last month, carrying head awkwardly in closing stages; there was encouragement for this longer trip, including from her pedigree, but others have far more pressing claims.
Late foal; 80,000euros yearling; on pedigree, not sure to get 1m2f; 25-1 and blew the start in maiden at Kempton (1m, Polytrack) four weeks ago but ending 3l fifth of six showed some ability and she should improve.
Late foal; tenth foal; Camelot half-sister to six winners including Checkandchallenge (7f-1m2f including 2yo/AW/Group 3; RPR 115), Mustajaab (6f 2yo/7f AW; 97), Phijee (6f 2yo; 96) and White Shaheen (7f/1m4f AW; 91); dam unraced half-sister to 1m2f Group 2 winner Alkhaadem; powerful stable and one of its three wins this year came with a 4yo newcomer.
Late foal; 575,000gns yearling by Sea The Stars; seventh foal; sister to 1m-1m6f winner Sea Silk Road (including Group 1; RPR 115), half-sister to three winners including Andaleep (prolific 1m2f-1m4f including AW; 100); dam German 7.5f 2yo Listed winner (94); big claims on paper, from a top stable which also runs form pick Pearl Of Hope.
Fair form when beaten 4l at Newmarket last September and again when no match for an impressive newcomer at Kempton (Polytrack) in December, both over 1m; that very much sets the standard in this field and 1m2f is likely to help; unraced stablemate Magical Treasure could pose problems, on paper, so their market strength needs a close look.
50,000gns yearling by Sea The Stars; first foal; dam unraced half-sister to winners Ayrad (1m2f/1m4f Listed) and Dawn Of Hope (9.5f AW Listed), out of useful 1m2f-winning sister to smart 7.5f/1m2f winner Moscow Ballet, close relation of champion sprinter Stravinsky; with a leading yard, which also runs Queen Of Mercia, so clearly one to note.
Last of ten at Lingfield (1m2f) at turn of the year; much better when making most with blinkers in maiden at Kempton (1m3f, again Polytrack; 20-1) 17 days later but she still needs to raise her game markedly and seems to need some persuasion; cheekpieces this time.
