An interesting and likely informative maiden. IPANEMA BEACH and Estoublon were seperated by 2l on their respective debuts at Navan last month, both finishing strongly from off the pace over an inadequate 6f. The latter didn't get a clear run then so there could be precious little between them this time, the former slightly preferred. Ballydoyle introduce Italy, a son of Wootton Bassett, who has to be respected, as does the Ger Lyons' newcomer Star Chamber, a son of Mehmas and a bit more speedily-bred than the Ballydoyle colt. Wootton Bassett colt a 160,000Euros yearling; first foal; dam 1m4f winner, sister to middle-distance Group 2 winner Leo De Fury, half-sister to 1m2f-1m4f Group 1 winner Luxembourg; slow to break, ran green and not clear run when midfield in good-class Navan maiden (6f) last month; 2l to find with Ipanema Beach on that run but bred to relish this longer trip and likely improver.
Siyouni half-brother to Australian 1m winner Maximum Dividend; dam Group 3 winner, sister to a middle-distance winner First Officer; eyecatching debut in Navan maiden last month, coming from last (green) to finish fourth behind a clear winner; 2l ahead of Estoublon then and interesting to see which of the pair makes the most improvement upped in trip here.
