His British career has largely been disappointing but, after his second wind op, KARAKTERE D'ENFER caught the eye making good headway from the rear in a soft-ground C&D maiden last month. He eventually faded into fifth that day but he could be on a good mark for this handicap return and, with good ground also suitable, he gets the vote. Getuptheyard ran well in defeat at Chepstow last month and is second choice, while fairly useful Flat racer Master Dunraven will be feared if strong in the betting before his handicap hurdle debut.[Chris Wilson]

0-8 over hurdles but shaped very well before fading into fifth in soft-ground C&D maiden last month (first run after a wind op); has better chance at the weights now back in a handicap and should be fine on the faster ground; interesting.
Safely held in first-time cheekpieces (retained) last month and now 0-9 over hurdles but significant positives can be drawn from his fifth at Stratford (2m2f, good to soft) two starts ago, and he may yet come good for Neil Mulholland.
Ended Irish Flat career with big-field handicap win in October (1m2f, heavy; RPR 84); well beaten in three novice/maiden hurdles for new stable last season but makes handicap hurdle debut in low-grade race and it won't be a surprise if he transfers some of that Flat ability to this code soon.
Stuck to his task pretty well when fifth of 12 in Fontwell handicap (2m3f, good) 11 days ago but has rather mixed record since winning 2m Plumpton maiden in October and others appeal more.
Moves back up in trip after very respectable third in 2m Chepstow maiden (good) 11 days ago but was no threat to the front pair and almost certainly needs to improve to make a winning handicap debut here.
Triple hurdle winner on ground slower than good for Dan Skelton in 2023-24 season but badly out of form for new stable this year, most recently when pulled up over C&D (good) in March.
0-10 over hurdles and not very consistent but bumped into an improver when clear second at Chepstow (2m3f, good) in March and is a contender if in the right mood again here.
Battled on well to win for Robert Walford at Fontwell (2m5f, soft) in December but signed off for him with two very disappointing runs (latter was chasing debut); tricky to predict on today's stable debut but might be aided by the first-time tongue-tie, and the new champion jockey is booked.
Did not take well to chasing last season (three attempts) but looked much happier when runner-up over hurdles at Bangor (2m7f, heavy; first-time cheekpieces) in February and has possibilities if handling the much quicker ground here.
Well handicapped on form from first half of last season and versatile regarding ground but was below par over C&D on latest outing in February and has modest 2-42 strike-rate over hurdles.
Gave good account when close fifth at Warwick (2m3f, good) last month but this very inconsistent 7yo remains without a win since February 2023 and is not the percentage call here.
1-32 over hurdles, the win gained on heavy ground in 2021; has found it tough to get competitive off lowly marks for new stable this year and is 4lb wrong today.
