It may be worth siding with BANG ON THE BELL who has dropped 7lb lower than when winning over C&D last March and could take some catching if able to get to the front early. There wasn't much between Rebel Path and Monsieur Beaulieu over 6f here nine days ago but both have something to prove over this trip, whereas El Bufalo, who was well behind the pair in that recent race, should appreciate the return to 5f. Dual Lingfield winner (7f/6f) since December and ran well despite hanging right when beaten half a length by Rebel Path (clear of the third) over 6f here nine days ago; 2lb better off with that rival, but both wins over this trip came on soft turf, so he does have something to prove.
Likes to come late off a strong pace and had the race run to suit when winning at Lingfield (5f, Polytrack) early in month, but he didn't get going in time when fourth of six under his 5lb penalty over C&D nine days ago; now 3lb lower but something of a hostage to fortune.
0-16 since winning from 7lb higher over C&D last March but he had an excuse behind Dashing Harry at Lingfield (5f, Polytrack) this month, as he missed the break after reportedly banging his head on the stalls; could go well if able to lead this time.
Dual winner over 6f here since December, just getting the better of Monsieur Beaulieu nine days ago; he does seem best at that trip, though, so the shorter distance may be a bigger problem than the 4lb rise.
Finished well behind Rebel Path and Monsieur Beaulieu over 6f here nine days ago, but unlike that pair the return to this trip should suit him; not dismissed with blinkers given a go.
Four-time winner over 6f here who ended a 17-race losing run last month at Wolverhampton (5f, Tapeta); ran well back there next time (6f) and was probably undone by the draw at Lingfield (5f, Polytrack) this month, but others are still more convincing at this level.
8-42 on the AW, including a win over C&D last April and two at Wolverhampton (5f, Tapeta) last month, but his last two efforts suggest that the handicapper may be in charge now and he may find this company a shade too warm.
