Mashaan should run another good race if fitting cheekpieces doesn't turn him off at this advanced stage in his career, while Bossy Parker has a turnaround in the weights that should enable him to get closer to ASH WEDNESDAY than he did last week. However, the selection won in fine style that day and can shrug off an 8lb rise. Porfin is also worth a look but Viva Voce might find the return to 7f against him from a wide draw.[Emily Weber]

The return to 7f and switch to this track has suited him well, interference costing him on Boxing Day before he crushed the opposition, headed by Bossy Parker, 11 days ago; an 8lb rise may not be enough to stop him.
His two most recent wins have come over C&D, the latest in July 2023; had a good run of form at Brighton early last summer and although he's been off since July he didn't do badly on his return from a similar break last spring; weighted to have a say.
Twice successful over C&D in early 2024 and has been running well at this level recently, albeit he found Ash Wednesday too hot to handle 11 days ago (headgear left off, blinkers now refitted); place chance again.
Has won on all three Tapeta tracks, including this C&D, although he is well suited by 1m these days and that was the trip he won over on Dundalk Polytrack in December; needs to negotiate the outside draw as well.
In good form for this yard since back from layoff, winning over C&D on Boxing Day and running well in defeat here (6f) and at Chelmsford (7f) since; ran poorly when hooded in November and now tried in cheekpieces, which could go either way this far into his career.
Can lead; handily treated on C&D form in the autumn but her recent efforts on this track haven't been as convincing and she faded into fourth back here last week.
Sole win over Beverley's stiff extended 7f last July; not an immediate convert to AW when down the field over 7f at Newcastle on final two starts for the Quinns, blinkers making no difference in November; new yard.
Multiple wins, most recently over C&D last July; on the back burner for many months after but he's on the right side of the handicapper now and ran well for a long way here last week when back from break; involved.
Won a 7f classified on Southwell Tapeta last February; has run respectably here without it being a home from home and he was never going particularly well over C&D on Boxing Day; work to do.
Nine-time winner, two of them over C&D in 2023; has not offered a lot of encouragement in the last 12 months though and his old legs don't carry him as fast as they used to.
